No sweat

We do sell some handmade items, whether glass or fiber. But we are careful not to sell anything obtained from sweatshop labor. No small children are harmed in the production of any items on this site, although we reserve the right to get a hold of innocents of all ages and teach them to knit or spin :-). We aim for an appropriate compensation for all workers we associate with, ie US or European levels of wages and benefits.

Sweatshop labor is the primary reason why you can't buy clothes made in this country any more, why any hand-made textile seems prohibitively expensive, why even Levis-Strauss (our local good guys) have closed their last US factory. The trend started with cars and textiles, and now affects most industries in the US.
