Pussy Galore

It's come to our attention that some of you have no recollection of who our model is. Sheesh! Well, her name's Pussy Galore and she's the female star of Goldfinger, one of the first James Bond movies (1964) and repeatedly voted the best ever by viewers everywhere. She's an evil lesbian, our favorite kind, and leader of the Flying Circus squadron of cute, tough girls. So far so good, right :-)? She does change sides eventually and lapse with Sean Connery, but that's clearly an aside, and in the process we get good scenes like the roll in the hay battle, horse riding, and the squadron practicing dropping nerve gas on Ft Knox.

Pussy and the Flying Circus Pussy is actually Honor Blackman, a smashing British actress, who also starred as Cathy Gale in early Avengers series before Dianna Riggs joined in, and where she pioneered the 'judo and black leather' style. At 75 she was starring in 'The Vagina Monologues', not a play for sissies, and having a guest spot in 'Bridget Jones' diary'. Her entire career is quite a poke in the eye for traditional female roles.

It should also be mentioned that even though the film is now rated PG by the UK censorship board, the name Pussy Galore alone raised quite a ruckus and a worldwide censorship effort, which was only intensified by the only lightly veiled lesbian content. We wish this kind of thing was truly over, but alas check out the American Library Association site for always-available current examples of the same.
