Soiree is a new yarn from Crystal Palace,
very brightly metallic while soft enough for neck contact.
'Soiree' means evening in French, and indeed
this would make a perfect evening scarf, no matter what the size.
We recently took a crochet
class from Mary Eng, who's obsessed with pasta shapes and has designed
many ingeneous ways to capture her favorites in yarn. Completely
understanding of this kind of obsession :-), we thought that
the farfelle (bowtie) pattern would be particularly suited for
this scarf.
Mary's stitch is an easier version of what Harmony calls the 'open link' pattern.
It has enough of a grid-like filet structure to be almost mindless to work,
and enough body to hold together even though it's lacey in look.
Experienced beginner.

Use yarn needle to work ends in. And don't even think of blocking this..
